Parish Nursing Overview

“How do I access the health care system? How do I find the religious community I identify with? What do these things mean?”

Montana parish nurses are registered nurses who sense a connection between their training as professional nurses and the calling of their faith. Appreciating the complex and holistic nature of personhood, parish nurses are particularly suited to answer questions on a wide variety of topics impacting a patient’s life. Education, advocacy, and spiritual reflection are all part of the parish nurse’s role.

Young men and women who have experienced challenges and opportunities in Montana’s juvenile justice system have an opportunity to seek the particularized mentoring skills of a parish nurse as they endeavor to resume life after corrections.
